TCU was facing elimination as they faced Dayton on Saturday afternoon, but their offense came alive as they easily won 28-12. The offense started early as TCU scored four runs in the top of the second, but they would cool off until the offense really started kicking in the sixth inning.
Before that, Dayton actually went to score four runs of their own in the bottom of the third as well as five more runs during the fourth and fifth innings to take a 9-6 lead. TCU then went on their epic scoring streak by putting up seven runs in the sixth inning, six runs in the seventh and then nine runs in the top of the ninth.
While the offense stole the show Saturday afternoon, TCU's relief pitching played a key roll. Relivers Justin Scharf and Nick Frey combined for 3.1 innings of shutout baseball late in the game while hte offense scored 13 runs during their time on the mound.
A few key players for TCU's offense in the win came from Jerrick Suiter who went 5-for-6, scored three runs and had three RBI. Another was Brance Rivera who went 1-for-2 with a home runs but he had six RBI and scored four runs.
