2012 U.S. Open: Cut Is Expected To Be 8-Over Par

The 2012 U.S. Open still has a good portion of the field still in play in the second round, so the projected cutline could change. Currently the projected cutline is 8-over par. Some major players that could miss the cut are Bubba Watson and last year's U.S. Open champion Rory McIlroy.

Watson is at plus-10 for the tournament, and 2-over par through Friday's second round. Currently Watson is on the No. 16 hole so his time is running short if he is going to pick up two strokes over the final holes.

McIlroy is done for the day and is currently at 10-over par which means he is likely to miss the cut unless many other players start shooting poorly and cause the cutline line to move higher. The odds of that happening is extremely slim, so it is posible that the defending champion will not see the course over the weekend.

Here is a look at the current leaderboard.
