2012 U.S. Open Score Update: Michael Thompson Atop Leaderboard, Tiger Woods Under Par

So far, the course at The Olympic Club hasn't been kind to golfers at the 2012 U.S. Open. Though the round is incomplete so far, only four golfers are under par on Thursday afternoon.

Michael Thompson currently sits atop the leaderboard, with a -3 score through his first 17 holes. David Toms is currently in second at -2 through 15. Jason Bohn and Tiger Woods are tied for third, at -1. No other golfer in the tournament is currently under par.

Woods clearly has been the highlight of his superstar pairing. Both Phil Mickelson and Bubba Watson have struggled in the opening round of the U.S. Open. Mickelson is a staggering +6 through 16, while Watson is even worse, at +8. Both golfers will need a minor miracle to even get into contention.

A live leaderboard can be viewed at the U.S. Open's official website.
