In the eighth inning, Brandon Finnegan and Kevin Allen combined to give up four runs while recording just one out. TCU was led at the plate by Kevin Cron, who went 1-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored. Kyle Von Tungeln went 2-for-4 with a run scored.

The Rebels were led by designated hitter Sikes Orvis, who went 1-for-4 with a two-RBI single in that eighth inning. Starter Bobby Wahl gave up two earned runs on four hits over seven innings.
