I'll Have Another raced just three times since last September, and jockey Mario Gutierrez raced his first time ever at Churchill Downs, much less the Kentucky Derby. The two beat 15-1 odds, however, to take down favorites like Bodemeister and Union Rags at the 2012 Kentucky Derby.
I'll Have Another overtook Bodemeister down the final stretch for the win. Bodemeister held 4-1 odds earlier this week, and is owned by the renowned Bob Baffert. The impressive race horse held a five-length lead coming up to the finally stretch. The impressive pedigree ultimately didn't hold out, however. I'll Have Another shocked every one with an impressive surge, and no doubt made a lot of smart betters happy. I'll Have Another paid out $32.60 with the win.
