The Baylor Bears have been named one of 16 school to be a regional host for the 2012 NCAA baseball tournament, and this will be the fourth time in school history to be a regional host. This season Baylor went 44-14 and 20-4 in Big 12 play.

Baylor won the Big 12 regular season but in the conference tournament they were sent to the losers bracket for falling once again to Oklahoma in the second round. They made it back to the semifinals and needed to win two games to reach the finals, but once again Oklahoma was in their way and defeated Baylor for the fifth straight time.

Despite failing to win the Big 12 tournament, Baylor was rewarded with a great regular season by landing a spot as a regional host. The entire field of 64 will be announced live on ESPNU at 12 p.m. ET on Monday.
