2012 MWC Baseball Tournament: New Mexico Defeats TCU 5-2, Horned Frogs Move To Losers Bracket

The New Mexico Lobos scored five runs in the last five innings versus the TCU Horned Frogs for a 5-2 victory in the Mountain West conference tournament. The loss puts the Horned Frogs into the loser's bracket in the tournament.

Gera Sanchez picked up the victory as the hurler went 6.1 innings and gave up just 2 earned runs and 6 strikeouts in the win. Preston Morrison took the loss as he gave up 4 runs (3 earned) in 6 innings while giving up 9 hits. Trey Porras was the big bat for the Lobos as the first baseman was 2-4 with 2 RBI's in the win.

The Horned Frogs are now 36-18 for the season and will face the San Diego State Aztechs in an elimination game on Saturday afternoon. First pitch versus the Aztecs is set for 5 p.m. Central Time.
