2012 Big 12 Baseball Tournament: Oklahoma Defeats Baylor 7-2 To Advance To Championship Game

The No. 1 seed Baylor Bears were unable to keep up their winning ways as the No. 4 seed Oklahoma Sooners defeated Baylor 7-2 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, thus advanced to the Big 12 Championship Game for the first time since 1997.

Matt Oberste hit two big homeruns for the Sooners as his two-run homer in the second inning and solo home run in the fourth helped secure the victory for OU. Jonathan Gray went 7.2 innings in the win while only allowing two runs while Joey Hainsfurther took the loss after giving up four earned runs in just 3.1 innings.

Oklahoma will face off against the winner of a matchup between Missouri and Kansas in the Big 12 Championship Game Sunday at 1 p.m. Baylor was the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament and will now await their placement in the regionals next week.
