The 2012 Crowne Plaza Invitational kicked off this morning at Colonial Country Club in Ft. Worth, TX and through the first round of play, American Zach Johnson is currently in the lead.
Johnson, who finished in second place at last weeks The Players Championship in Florida, won this event in 2010 and finished fourth last year. Shooting a 64 on the day, it was Johnson's 13th consecutive under-par round on this same Colonial golf course and he apparently feels comfortable playing on a course with tight, tree-lined fairways and small greens.
Here's a more detailed look at today's leaderboard after the first round of action:
1. Zach Johnson -6
2. Harris English - 5
T3. Tom Gillis -4 (thru 15 holes)
T3. Chris DiMarco - 4
T3. Tommy Gainey -4
T3. Sergio Garcia - 4
T7. Andres Romero -3 (thru 13 holes)
T7. Brendon de Jonge -3 (thru 14 holes)
T7. Jason Dufner -3 (thru 12 holes)
Round two of the Invitational gets underway on Friday.
