Jason Dufner sank a long birdie putt on 18 to avoid a playoff and capture the 2012 Byron Nelson Championship on Sunday. Dufner's putt was in excess of 25 feet and hit dead center of the cup.
Dicky Pride finishes second at 10-under and looked on from the gallery as Dufner avoided a playoff with his putt. Joe Durant, Marc Leishman, Jonas Blixt and J.J. Henry all finished at 9-under and tied for third.
Dufner entered the day with a one shot lead but quickly fell behind with bogeys on two of his first three holes. He bounced back with birdies at four, five, seven and 10 before another bogey at 11. Dufner got to 10 under with a birdie at 16 and then sealed the win with his long putt at 18.
