Baylor Vs. Texas Baseball: Longhorns Edge Out Bears To Win 2-1

Texas got past No. 7 ranked Baylor 2-1 in the teams final game of the regular season, and with the win Texas avoided getting swept by Baylor. Texas got on the scoreboard first when first baseman Erich Weiss singled down the left field line which scored right field Mark Payton and gave Texas the early 1-0 lead.

Texas would hold onto that lead until the top of the fifth when center fielder Logan Vick hit a sacrifice fly which scored DH Nathan Orf to tie the game.

The game went scoreless until the bottom of the eighth when Jonathan Walsh scored the eventual game winning run on a wild pitch by Ryan Smith. Baylor had a shot in the bottom of the ninth inning but Texas rightfielder Mark Payton gunned Adam Toth at third base for the second out of the ninth inning to seal the deal.

Texas' Hoby Milner earned the win by pitching 4.1 innings of scoreless baseball.
