Odds for the 2012 Preakness were made available on Thursday morning, following Wednesday night's post position draw. As always, the post positions affect the odds, which is why bettors had to wait until Thursday to start placing bets on this year's Preakness.
There's no question that the odds will continue to change as bets come pouring in between now and Saturday evening, but here are the current odds for the 2012 Preakness, sorted by post positions.
- Tiger Walk, 30-1
- Teeth of the Dog, 15-1
- Pretension, 30-1
- Zetterholm, 20-1
- Went The Day Well, 6-1
- Creative Cause, 6-1
- Bodemeister, 8-5
- Daddy Nose Best, 12-1
- I'll Have Another, 5-2
- Optimizer, 30-1
- Cozzetti, 30-1
All eyes will be on post positions 7-9, with Daddy Nose Best sandwiched between the two favorites, Bodemeister and I'll Have Another. Both Bodemeister and I'll Have Another ran successfully in the Kentucky Derby, with Bodemeister setting record times up until the end, and with I'll Have Another coming roaring down the stretch to win the Run for the Roses.
