NCAA Baseball 2012: Baylor Falls Five Spots In Baseball America Poll

Losing three games in two days to the middling Oklahoma Sooners did no favors for the Baylor Bears in this weeks' Baseball America poll. Baylor began play on Saturday at No. 2; they will host Texas-San Antonio at home Tuesday night as the seventh-ranked team in the land.

Baylor had not lost in the Big 12 before the Oklahoma sweep, and had already clinched the regular season title. The Bears will get one more opportunity in regular season conference play to prove their worth for a national seed to the tournament committee when they host the unranked Texas Longhorns in Waco Thursday night, then travel to Austin for games on Saturday and Sunday.

The other Texas schools in the poll are Rice, who held firm at No. 5 after a 3-1 week; Texas A&M stayed at No. 10 after sweeping San Diego State; and TCU moved up four spots to No. 20 after sweeping Air Force in a series where the Horned Frogs outscored the Academy 33-3.
