2012 Masters Winner: Bubba Watson Wins His First Green Jacket

Bubba Watson roared back to force a sudden death playoff by converting on four straight birdies from the No. 13 through No. 16 holes to tie Louis Oosthuizen and force the 2012 Masters into extra golf to decide the winner. On the first extra hole which took place on No. 18 both golfers shot par so the next playoff hole be have the golfers head to the No. 10 hole.

This is where things got interesting as Oosthuizen had trouble getting to the green and had to put from the edge of the green and he pushed his put just wide and had to settle for a bogie. Watson was not fairing much better as he ended up in the mulch, but Watson was able to hit an amazing shot and set himself up for a par putt which he made to win his first ever major tournament.

Local golfer Hunter Mahan started the day five strokes back but he could not make a Sunday run and ended up shooting a 2-over 74 in the final round and for the tournament finished 2-under and eight strokes back of Watson and Oosthuizen.
