Masters 2012 Leaderboard Update: Scott Verplank At E, Harrison Frazar At +2

The opening round of the first major of the 2012 PGA season began early Thursday morning, and there are several Dallas area golfers among the field of 92 competing for a green jacket.

The early leaders are Paul Lawrie (through 16) and Henrik Stenson (through 7) at -3, with Tiger Woods two shots back at -1 (through 6).

Scott Verplank, who was born in Dallas and played at Oklahoma State, is near the top at E (through 5), as most of the field is currently over par.

Harrison Frazar, a Dallas native who still maintains a residence here after playing at Texas, is among them at +2 (through 14).

Several of the biggest names are still waiting in the clubhouse, including Hunter Mahan, who played at Oklahoma State and lives in Colleyville, as well as Phil Mickelson, Sergio Garcia, Rory McIlroy and Vijay Singh.
