2012 Kentucky Derby Odds

The 2012 Kentucky Derby will be held on Saturday, May 5 at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. As is always the case when it comes to the Triple Crown races, bettors throughout the world will be putting hard earned money on the line. As with anything regarding sports betting, and particularly horse racing, the odds are anything but a sure thing -- but they do paint a picture of who should win.

The odds on each horse may change throughout the week, but here are the latest odds on each horse in the race, as of April 29.

  • Alpha: 11/1

Last year, Animal Kingdom won the 2011 Kentucky Derby -- but only was given 20/1 odds headed into the race. Dialed In was the odds-on favorite, given 4/1 odds, while Nehro was given the second-best odds at 6/1.

It's of note that Calvin Borel, who was the winning jockey in the 2007, 2009 and 2010 Kentucky Derbys, will be riding Take Charge Indy. Still, that's not enough to make Take Charge Indy one of the favorites this weekend.
