The Baylor Bears saw their 24-game winning streak end this past week, as they lost to Texas-San Antonio Tuesday, but two home wins against a then-No. 25 New Mexico State squad, combined with a Kentucky SEC series loss, were enough to move the Bears up a spot to No. 2 in this week's Baseball America NCAA rankings. Baylor is off this week for final exams, and doesn't resume play until they visit Texas State next Tuesday.
After a 2-2 week that saw them lose a Big 12 series to Texas A&M, Texas dropped from No. 20 to No. 25 in the rankings. The Longhorns host Prairie View A&M on Tuesday before going on the road for a Big 12 series with Missouri this weekend.
Other Lone Star State teams in the rankings include Rice (No. 6, no change); Texas A&M (No. 9, no change); and Sam Houston State (No. 21, up three spots).
