Texas' hardballers will try to take their seventh game in the last contest of a nine-game homestand against the Central Arkansas Bears on Tuesday evening.
The two schools have never met before. Central Arkansas (16-20, 10-11 Southland) is coming off a weekend sweep at the hands of Texas State, who the Longhorns have defeated twice this season. Bears right fielder Forrestt Allday sports an on-base percentage of .537 to lead an offense that's second in the Southland in hitting average.
Dillon Peters will start a second consecutive game for Texas, after one tough inning ended his Sunday start. Right-hander Clint Green (2-0, 2.82) will start for Central Arkansas. The Longhorns' staff currently boasts six pitchers with sub-2.00 ERAs at home this year, each having thrown at least 15 innings.
After the 6 p.m. game with Central Arkansas on Tuesday, Texas goes to College Station to play the opener of a three-game series with Texas A&M before coming home for Saturday and Sunday games with the Aggies.
