Stupid NFL Draft "News" season officially starts today, exactly a week away from the first round! Light a candle, wrap some presents, or baselessly accuse your neighbor's cat of "character issues!"
NFL Network reporter Albert Breer is currently picking his digital teeth up after affirming a rumor about Robert Griffin III on Twitter, then trying to backtrack when all of Waco, most of Texas and a large majority of sports fans, bloggers and sane humans eviscerated him:
I've heard these rumblings too. RT @evansilva: Quotes from scouts on RG3: "He's got a little bit of a selfish streak." is.gd/P9pNuW

"I'm confirming your incredibly vague character assaination via anonymous quote with my own hazy, unsubstantiated remark in a public forum. JOURNALISM!"
You can cruise Breer's timeline for the blow-by-blow, but in short, he proceeded to get absolutely lit up by the public at large, including SB Nation's Baylor blog Our Daily Bears, then backtracked, tried to define his own ambigous nonsense and failed at avoiding Cam Newton comparions. In the end, he tried to dismiss the blowback as merely fan-inspired bias.
Yes. Damn those biased fans, constantly flooding the public conversation with their baseless claims.
@HeathNielsen I can take it. I know the public down there loves him. Don't shoot the messenger!

Oh, good - at least he didn't make himself the victim.
