North Texas Advances To Sun Belt Final With 76-72 Win Over Arkansas State

North Texas will make its third straight trip to the Sun Belt final after pulling out a 76-72 win over Arkansas State on Monday. The Mean Green will play either Denver or Western Kentucky in the tournament final on Tuesday.

Jacob Holman led North Texas with 21 points including five three-point baskets. Holman hit 8-11 shots and played 39 minutes in the contest. Alzee Williams added 12 points while Tony Mitchell and Brandan Walton added 11 points each. Roger Franklin also finished in double figures with 10 points.

Trey Finn led Arkansas State with 21 points while Marcus Hooten added 18. Malcoln Kirkland logged a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

North Texas knocked off the fourth seed Louisiana Lafayette 65-62 on Sunday thanks to a Brandan Walton three-pointer. The Mean Green can earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament with a win on Tuesday.
