2012 Women's Basketball Tournament: Brittney Griner Ejected In Win Over Tennessee

Late in Baylor's Elite Eight win over Tennessee, Brittney Griner and two of her teammates were ejected for leaving the bench area during a skirmish with just 46.8 seconds remaining.

Baylor's Odyssey Sims and Tennessee's Shekinna Stricklen had to be separated late in the game, prompting Griner, Terran Condrey and Jordan Madden to leave the bench area. No punches were thrown but each player that entered the playing court were ejected. However, the NCAA says that none of the players will be suspended for the Final Four.

Griner finished with 23 points, 15 rebounds and nine blocks against the Lady Vols, and an injury or suspension might be the only thing that can prevent the Lady Bears from achieving a perfect season. It wasn't smart of Griner to get involved in any on court incident but the crisis appears to have been averted in this instance.
