Lamar Odom's lackluster year hit a low on Friday, as Dallas Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle did not play Odom at all in Dallas' loss to San Antonio -- not due to injury, but because of Carlisle's decision to keep Odom on the bench.
Odom provided the media with some odd quotes about the benching, but didn't seem particularly heated about the decision.
"Expect the unexpected as far as life's concerned," Odom said. "I've been through a lot. It's not too much I haven't seen. So I understand it. I'm a team guy. Whatever. He's the coach."
"Whatever" perhaps sums up Odom's season better than any other quote or word could. Odom has been nothing short of a disappointment for the Mavericks since being acquired by the Lakers, and it's seemed to have come to a culmination with Carlisle finally benching the struggling Odom.
