Stars vs. Oilers: Dallas Starts Road Trip In Canada With Edmonton

The Dallas Stars start their three-game road trip through Western Canada on Friday night against the Edmonton Oilers, with the slightest lead for the final spot in the Western Conference playoffs.

Dallas is fresh off a 4-3 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday, but still hold a 5-1-2 record in its last eight games, with 71 points on the season.

"I thought we played hard and had a solid game, wish we could have that second point," Dallas head coach Glen Gulutzan said to The Sports Network. "Huge road trip up ahead that we'll need points in."

Michael Ryder, who scored one of the Stars' goals against the Penguins, has eight goals and 12 points over his past 13 games, while Mike Ribeiro and Trevor Daley each had assists. Ribeiro has 11 points in eight games, while Daley has points in a five games in a row, a career best.

The Oilers just dropped their last game to the St. Louis Blues, 5-2.

Dallas and Edmonton face off at 8:30 p.m., Central time.
