If you've followed the Baylor Lady Bears at all this year, you shouldn't be surprised. If you just look at the records of Baylor and UC Santa Barbara, you shouldn't be surprised. The Lady Bears, who are a perfect 34-0 this year so far, lead UC Santa Barbara 46-16 at halftime in the opening round of the 2012 Women's NCAA Tournament.
Destiny Williams is leading the offensive assault for the Lady Bears, with 12 points at the half. Williams has also added five rebounds, making her on pace for a double-double.
Brittney Griner, meanwhile, is five-of-eight shooting for 10 points so far. Griner has also added three rebounds, two blocks and an assist in the dominating first half effort.
For the Gauchos of Santa Barbara, Emilie Johnson leads the way with seven points, while Kirsten Tilleman isn't far behind with six. Only four players on UC Santa Barbara even scored in the first half of play.
