Stars Vs. Coyotes: Game Preview, TV Schedule And More

The Dallas Stars face the Phoenix Coyotes for the fourth time this season Tuesday night as each team looks to jump into the top eight.

The Coyotes travel from Phoenix to Dallas to take on the Stars in American Airlines Center Tuesday night at 8:30 p.m. (ET). The Stars come into the game with a 27-22-2 record and their 56 points has them sitting in ninth place in the Western Conference and in third place in the Pacific Division. The Coyotes, meanwhile, have a 24-21-8 record and their 56 points has them in 10th place in the conference and in fourth place in the Pacific.

The Stars are coming off a 2-1 win in a shootout over the Minnesota Wild. They're led in points by left winger Jamie Benn (44), in goals by right winger Michael Ryder (18) and goalie Kari Lehtonen has a goals against average of 2.38. The Coyotes are coming off two wins in a row, one over the San Jose Sharks and one over the Detroit Red Wings. They're led in points by left winger Ray Whitney (47), in goals right winger Radim Vrbata (24) and goalie Mike Smith has a goals against average of 2.46.

This is the fourth time the two teams have faced each other this season. The Stars won the first two matchups, both times in a shootout, and the Coyotes shut Dallas out 3-0 in the third game.
