The Oklahoma Sooners have traveled down I-35 and taken their talents to Waco, Texas with the intentions of pulling off the upset special in Big 12 conference play. So far, Lon Kruger's basketball team has been up to the task as tough defense and strong first half performances from Steve Pledger and Cameron Clark has the Sooners up 34-31 over the Baylor Bears after 30 minutes of play.
Pledger and Clark have combined for 21 of the Sooners' 34 points thus far, and the Sooners have out-rebounded the Bears 20-17. Baylor has received another poor performance from their star player Perry Jones III in the first half, as his 2 points on 1-of-5 shooting along with 2 fouls have made him a complete non-factor. Quincy Miller has stepped up again for Baylor, with 10 points in the first half. Miller has averaged 16 points/game in the last three games.
Baylor is just 6-5 in their last 11 games and a win is desperately needed to prevent them from free-falling in the rankings.
