Texas Longhorns head coach Mack Brown on Monday discussed some of his players who are eligible for the NFL draft.

Brown stated that he asked his draft-eligible players to reach out to the NFL to find out their chances in April's draft. Brown does not expect any of his underclassmen to jump for the NFL, but thinks that talking to the professionals could help motivate them next season.

The head coach told reporters on Monday:

"We ask them to get their own status checked just so they know ... know what to work on," Brown said.

Wide receiver Mike Davis and cornerback Carrington Byndom are two potential candidates to leave for the NFL draft, although both are expected to return to Austin next season.

Texas did expect junior defensive end Jackson Jeffcoat to leave for the 2013 Draft, but Jeffcoat tore his pectoral against the Oklahoma Sooners, causing him to return for his senior season.
