The Lehigh Mountain Hawks had a huge first half en route to their 90-75 victory over the North Texas Mean Green. North Texas started off slow in the first half as they trailed 52-33, and while they played better in the second half, they were unable to comeback from that 19-point deficit.
North Texas actually led Lehigh 21-20 with 8:37 left in the first half, but for the rest of the period, Lehigh outscored North Texas 30-12. In the second half, North Texas could not put a dent into their double-digit deficit.
Tony Mitchell did the best he could for North Texas with 22 points, nine rebounds and three blocked shots; Alzee Williams contributed with 20 points, but there was not enough help from others in this game.
As a team, North Texas shot just 38 percent from the field while Lehigh converted 48 percent. The big difference in the game was that Lehigh made 11-of-23 shots from three-point range on its way to a 90-75 win.
