Sprint Cup points leader Jimmie Johnson won his second consecutive Chase race from the pole Sunday, holding off Brad Keselowski in the AAA 500 at Texas Motor Speedway.

Johnson and Keselowski currently rank first and second in the Chase point standings. Johnson holds a seven-point lead with two races remaining and is trying to win his sixth Sprint Cup title in seven years. Clint Bowyer is in third place in the standings, 36 points behind Johnson.

Kyle Busch placed third in the race. Matt Kenseth was fourth, and Tony Stewart rounded out the top five. Johnson led 168 of 335 laps Sunday. Busch led 80, and Keselowski led 75. No other driver led more than six laps.

After the race, Johnson commented on the tight battle:

"It was an awesome race," Johnson said. "The gloves are off, and it's bare-knuckle fighting. I have a lot of respect for that 2 team, those guys are doing a great job. Today I think our cars were pretty equal throughout the course of the race. At the end of the race we were on four (tires) and had to take advantage of it."

Next up on the Sprint Cup schedule is the AdvoCare 500 at Phoenix International Raceway. The race is scheduled for 2:15 p.m. CT Sunday, Nov. 11.
