The Baylor Bears and Texas Tech Red Raiders renew their rivalry Saturday, as the teams are set for a meeting at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
For the Bears (5-5, 2-5 Big 12), Saturday's contest is a chance to reach bowl eligibility. Baylor is just 2-5 in its last seven games, but the team is coming off what was perhaps the biggest upset of this college football season. The Bears knocked off then-No. 1 and undefeated Kansas State, 52-24, in Waco, Texas, on Saturday, Nov. 17. Baylor racked up 580 yards on the Wildcats, and the Bears' defense forced three Collin Klein interceptions.
Texas Tech (7-4, 4-4) renews its most-played rivalry when the Red Raiders square off against Baylor. The teams have met for 70 games, with Tech holding a 36-33-1 advantage in the series. The Red Raiders started the season with a surprising 6-1 record but have come back to earth in recent weeks. Tech has lost three of its last four games, and its only win during that stretch was a 41-34 double overtime victory over lowly Kansas.
Baylor and Texas Tech meet Saturday at 1:30 p.m. CT. The game will be televised on FOX.
