The Dallas Mavericks entered the weekend with a 4-1 record, but came out of the weekend with a 4-3 record, after losses on Friday and Saturday.

On Friday, the Mavericks fell short against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden, losing 104-94. Carmelo Anthony led all scorers with 31 points, while former Maverick Tyson Chandler led with nine rebounds.

Saturday night, the Mavericks fell in overtime to the Charlotte Bobcats, losing 101-97 in overtime. The Mavericks simply didn't have an answer for Kemba Walker, as the former Connecticut guard led all scorers with 26 points, and also added seven assists.

The two losses dropped the Mavericks to fourth place in the Southwest division, as the Mavericks trail the San Antonio Spurs (6-1), Memphis Grizzles (5-1) and New Orleans Hornets (3-2). Memphis has won five games in a row, including two games this weekend, as the Grizzles defeated the Houston Rockets on Friday night, 93-85, before dismantling the Miami Heat on Sunday, 104-86.
