The Memphis Tigers have struggled this season, earning only one win in seven games. However, that hasn't deterred coach Justin Fuente, who believes his team continues to grow and improve every week.
After dropping their first two games of the season by a combined eight points, the Tigers have been loss competitive in their losses, suffering their four other defeats by at least 18 points.
While the statistics and numbers say one thing, Fuente is more concerned with how his players have bought in and committed to the program, according to Go Memphis Tigers:
"I just know from an accountability level, a discipline level, from our guys playing with emotion and intensity, I know as a program we have improved," he said. "I do know that for a fact. I see it every day.
Memphis is coming off a 35-17 loss to the Central Florida Knights, a game where the Tigers outgained UCF in total yards by 10, but committed three costly turnovers to the Knights' one.
The Tigers will attempt to finish the season strong when they travel on the road for the next two games against Southern Methodist and Marshall.
