MLS standings 2012: FC Dallas still in sixth after playing to 3-3 draw

Despite playing to a 3-3 draw against the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday, FC Dallas are still in a position to make a playoff run.

FC Dallas currently trails the Vancouver Whitecaps by two points in the Western Conference for the fifth and final playoff spot. Both FC Dallas and Vancouver have three games remaining in their regular seasons.

San Jose, Real Salt Lake, the Seattle Sounders FC and the Los Angeles Galaxy have already clinched playoff berths in the Western Conference.

Sporting Kansas City is the only club to have locked up a playoff berth in the Eastern Conference, with 58 points. The New York Red Bulls and Chicago Fire are in good shape with 53 points, while D.C. United sits in fourth at 51. The Houston Dynamo are clinging to the fifth playoff spot by just one point with 49, as the Columbus Crew are in sixth with 48.

FC Dallas will look to gain ground this weekend, when they take on Chivas USA.
