A.J. Walton stripped Angel Rodriguez on a drive that would have tied the game and enabling Baylor to escape with a 75-73 win over the Kansas State Wildcats. The Bears improve to a school-record 15-0 on the season with the victory.
After trailing by two at halftime, Baylor put together a 25-8 run in the second half to take the lead. The Wildcats answered back but turnovers in the games final moments ultimately sank Kansas State's upset bid.
Perry Jones III led Baylor with 17 points and eight rebounds. Brady Haslip and Quincy Ash each chipped in 13 points. Pierre Jackson had a big impact off the bench finishing with 10 points, 11 assists, five rebounds and two steals for the Bears.
Rodney McGruder scored a career-high 30 points in the loss hitting 10-14 field goals in the game. McGruder also grabbed six rebounds and handed out three assists. Jordan Henriquez added 12 points in the loss.
