Big 12 Weekend: Missouri Loses Thriller While Oklahoma State Cruises

It's a quiet weekend for the Big 12, but ranked teams Oklahoma St., Missouri and Texas are in action.

It's an abbreviated weekend in the Big 12, with Oklahoma St. and Missouri playing early games and only Texas, Iowa St. and Kansas in action Saturday. Texas A&M is off, and Oklahoma is as well, as they prepare for their showdown with Florida State in Tallahassee in one week.

Oklahoma State kicked off the week with an easy 37-14 win over Arizona. QB Brandon Weeden had his way with the Wildcats, hitting 42 of 53 passes for 397 yards and a pair of touchdowns to all-world receiver Justin Blackmon. Joseph Randle led the way in a similarly effective run game, carrying 15 times for 118 yards and 2 TD. He also caught nine passes for 99 yards. Former Longhorn Dan Buckner impressed in a losing cause, catching ten passes for 142 yards and a score.

Missouri fell to Arizona St. in an overtime barn burner with 993 yards of offense. The Tigers passed up on late chances to win it in regulation, and they couldn't deal with Aaron Pflugrad. Pflugrad had 8 catches for 180 yards and 2 TD for the Sun Devils.

Saturday, Iowa St. takes on Iowa at 11:00 in their intrastate showdown. The Cyclones will try to slow down the offensive combo of James Vandenberg and Marcus Coker

Kansas takes on Northern Illinois at 6:00 on DirecTV channel 623 and FCSC.

Texas hosts potential future Big 12 rival BYU at 6:00 on ESPN2 (also on ESPN3 and ESPN 3D), as Mack Brown's new regime will face their first serious test of the season.
