Rangers Battle Rays In Labor Day Matinee

The Rangers are in Tampa Bay to face the Rays in their final regular season series with the AL East. Texas leads the West by 3.5 games on Labor Day

Fresh off of their third straight series win and still leading the AL West by 3.5 games, the Rangers are in Tampa Bay to take on James Shields and the Rays. What a difference a year has made for Shields and Rangers starter Scott Feldman, as both have rebounded from difficult 2010 seasons to post stellar numbers. In Feldman's case, he's making just his second start of the season, but what a start his first one was. Filling in for a tiring Matt Harrison last Tuesday, he shut out the Rays in Arlington for six innings, allowing just two hits and a walk.

The Rangers are starting what has become their standard lineup with slugger Nelson Cruz out:

I. Kinsler 2b
E. Andrus ss
J. Hamilton lf
M. Young 3b
A. Beltre dh
D. Murphy rf
Y. Torrealba c
M. Moreland 1b
E. Chavez cf

while the Rays are fielding a lineup they use against right-handed pitchers:

D. Jennings dh
B.J. Upton cf
E. Longoria 3b
B. Zobrist 2b
M. Joyce rf
S. Rodriguez ss
C. Kotchman 1b
J. Jaso c
J. Ruggiano lf

First pitch is at 12:10 CDT on FSN.
