The Texas Rangers look to rebound after Tuesday night's loss to the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday night as Matt Harrison takes the mound against Miguel Cabrera and Detroit's offense.
Harrison will be looking for his 10th win of the season, as his record currently sits at 9-7. While Alexi Ogando certainly has been the surprise of the season for Texas' rotation, Harrison isn't that far behind. Harrison currently owns a 2.94 ERA and 1.24 WHIP while holding opponents to a .250 average. Comparatively, Harrison's career marks in those stats sit at 4.52, 1.45 and .278.
Ron Washington and the Rangers will also look for a better performance out of the bullpen. Mike Adams, who made his Rangers debut last night, was hung with the loss after giving up a homer to Brennan Boesch in the eighth inning that put Detroit ahead 6-5.
Texas' offense will face off against Doug Fister, who the Tigers acquired from the Mariners. Once again proving that records are meaningless for pitchers, Fister's record sits at 3-12 - despite having a 3.33 ERA and 1.17 WHIP as a member of the Mariners.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. CDT.
