After last Wednesday's win over the Los Angeles Angels, the Rangers found themselves seven games up on their divisional rivals - with a chance to really put the dagger in Anaheim's heart with a potential four game sweep the following day. The Rangers, though, blew Thursday's game in Los Angeles and since then, the Angels have gained some ground. Entering play tonight, the Angels sit just three behind the Rangers in the loss column.
↵Texas, of course, are in the middle of a four game set with the Boston Red Sox while the Angels take on the White Sox in the final game of their brief two game series with Chicago.
↵It's a very real possibility that the Angels will find themselves just two back of the Rangers in the loss column headed into this weekend's series when the Angels visit Arlington. Jered Weaver pitches tonight for the Angels, while the Red Sox have to face Josh Beckett. At least Texas avoids Red Sox lefty Jon Lester, and instead will face Andrew Miller in the series finale on Thursday, while the Angels are idle.
