Wimbledon 2011: Ladies, Gentlemen Finals Set

Both the Ladies and Gentlemen's finals are set at Wimbledon after the Gentlemen's semifinals concluded on Friday. As expected, the Gentlemen's final will feature No. 1 seed Rafael Nadal and No. 2 Novak Djokovic. Both Nadal and Djokovic needed four sets to advance to the finals. Nadal defeated Andy Murral despite dropping the first set, 5-7, 6-2, 6-2, 6-4.

Djokovic took care of Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, winning 7-6 (7-4), 6-2, 6-7 (11-9), 6-3. If Tsonga could have managed to take the first set tiebreak, things would have been interesting as the match would have gone to a fifth set, but alas, Tsonga could not win the tiebreak. We're now in for a treat between the Joker and Nadal for the final on Sunday.

As an appetizer to the Gentlemen's final, we have the Ladies' final tomorrow. Maria Sharapova will take on 21 year old Petra Kvitova in the championship match. It's Sharapova's first appearance in the Wimbledon finals since 2004.

It's a shame we're down to one Grand Slam final left to go after this weekend - so if you're a tennis fan, make sure to tune in or watch online so you can enjoy the Wimbledon finals.
