Aggies Hammer Seminoles 11-2 For 2011 College World Series Birth

Much like their rival Longhorns, the Texas A&M Aggies didn’t take the easiest road in their regional or super regional, but they are headed for the College World Series anyway. The Aggies did win two quick games in their College Station Regional, but they lost to Arizona in their first shot at advancing and had to sit through a one-day rain delay before shutting out the Sun Devils and moving on to face national five seed Florida State.

They won the first seed in the Tallahassee Super Regional as well, but they were embarrassed 23-9 in the second game. Things went much more smoothly in the rubber match, as they scored six in the bottom of the first and cruised to an 11-2 clincher behind Michael Wacha and 21 base runners.

They will pair up against the national four seed South Carolina in their CWS opener Sunday. That game will be televised at 6:00 CDT on ESPN2. A win would likely set up a matchup against the top national seed Virginia, assuming that they take care of the cinderella Cal Bears.
