The Texas Rangers look to start a new winning streak tonight as they play host to Trevor Cahill and the Oakland Athletics in an AL West showdown.
Texas faced Cahill earlier this season, on April 29, pitching seven shutout innings en route to a 3-1 Oakland victory. Cahill has since improved to 5-0 on the season - and he's also an owner of a 1.79 ERA and 1.13 WHIP. The 23 year old right hander has allowed one or no earned runs in six of his seven starts this season.
C.J. Wilson gets the start for the Rangers - and his second crack at Cahill and the A's. Wilson was the tough luck loser in the game against Oakland, pitching seven innings while giving up nine hits and three runs. Wilson bounced back in his next start against the Mariners, though, pitching a complete game, allowing just one earned run while striking out 12.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CDT, 5:05 p.m. PDT.
