It's another night of do or die for the Dallas Stars, as they pay the Colorado Avalanche a return visit after winning 4-2 in Dallas Thursday. The Stars remain two points behind the Anaheim Ducks and Chicago Blackhawks for the last two playoff spots in the Western Conference and in a weak tiebreaker position, trailing both in non-shootout wins. Just two games remain, so the Stars must win tonight.
Chicago takes on Detroit, and Anaheim will match up against Los Angeles later on the West coast. Both games are the first of home-and-homes. The Stars will travel to Minnesota Sunday to end their regular season.
Kari Lehtonen will make his 21st straight start in goal again tonight and will look to continue his best month of the season. All three of his shutouts have been in March and April. Peter Budaj is the expected starter in net for the Avalanche.
