Los Angeles Angels Vs. Texas Rangers: Rivals Collide With First Place In AL West On The Line

Los Angeles Angels (10-5) at Texas Rangers (10-5)
Probable Starting Pitchers: Ervin Santana (0-1, 3.74 ERA), C.J. Wilson (1-0, 3.72 ERA)

The Texas Rangers return home after a road trip that brought them to Baltimore, Detroit and New York. Texas took two of three from Baltimore before losing two of three to both Detroit and New York. Texas also lost the reigning AL MVP on the road trip as well as Josh Hamilton suffered a nondisplaced fracture in his shoulder and will miss six to eight weeks.

The good news is, though, that the Rangers are still tied for first in the AL West and are returning home to Arlington. Tonight, C.J. Wilson will take the mound as the Rangers welcome the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim to Texas. Wilson has only been involved in one decision so far this year, in a 7-3 win over the Mariners. Wilson has given up 19 hits in 19.1 innings of work so far this year while walking seven and striking out 12.

Texas' offense will face right handed starter Ervin Santana, who has yet to earn a win this year. Still, Santana has pitched well, posting a 3.74 ERA and 1.11 WHIP in 21.2 innings of work so far this year.

First pitch is scheduled for 8:05 p.m. EST, 7:05 p.m. CST.
