Assuming - and it's a big assumption - that an NFL lockout can be avoided or ended in time, the 2011 NFL preseason schedule has been set. The season will open on August 7 with the Hall of Fame Game, featuring the Chicago Bears and St. Louis Rams.
The Cowboys still play twice at home, then finish with two on the road:
Aug 13: Denver at Dallas
Aug 20: San Diego at Dallas
Aug 27: Dallas at Minnesota
Sept 1: Dallas at Miami
Dallas will see three teams with unsettled QB situations, as John Fox will have to sort out Kyle Orton and Tim Tebow, the Vikings will look at Brett Favre replacements, and Chad Henne will try to hang onto the Dolphins' job.
The Cowboys will return to San Antonio in 2011 if there is a regularly scheduled training camp. That training camp and the preseason schedule are both very much in doubt until the NFL completes a new collective bargaining deal with its players.
