2011 NCAA Tournament: Texas Longhorns Earn 4 Seed In West Region

The Texas Longhorns will be headed to the West region in the 2011 NCAA Tournament, where the Longhorns earned a four-seed. Texas will take on the 13-seed Oakland Golden Grizzles in their first game of the tournament.

The Duke Blue Devils earned the No. 1 seed in the West region, while the San Diego State Aztecs are the No. 2 seed. The Connecticut Huskies, who won the Big East tournament on Saturday night after winning five games in five days, are the third seed.

Texas does not have much to complain about being ranked behind those three teams in their region.

Should the seedings hold, the Longhorns would take on Arizona in their second contest of the tournament. The Wildcats, who are the fifth seed, will be taking on the Memphis Tigers in their first match up.

After losing three of four games, the Longhorns rebounded to end their regular season with a win over Baylor before winning two games in the Big 12 tournament, defeating Oklahoma and Texas A&M before losing to the Kansas Jayhawks in the title game.
