March Madness 2011: Projecting The #1 Seeds In The NCAA Tournament.

Selection Sunday is finally upon us and the final No. 1 seed is still up for grabs.

As of right now, Kansas has claimed the Big 12 title and is a lock for a No. 1 seed. The current No. 1 team in the nation, Ohio State, are also a lock for a No. 1 seed regardless of their result later today against Penn St. Despite a loss against eventual Big East champion Connecticut, Pittsburgh should also lay claim to the 3rd No. 1 seed. The Panthers struggled down the stretch, but going 15-3 in the brutal Big East should be enough to claim a No. 1 seed.

That leaves the final No. 1 seed up for grabs.

The big matchup to watch is the AAC title game that pits No. 5 Duke against No. 7 North Carolina at 12:00 p.m CT on ESPN. A Duke win and the final No. 1 seed would be theirs. A Duke loss? This gives North Carolina and Notre Dame a chance to sneak into the final No. 1 seed.

I think Duke avoids the chaos and wins outright to claim the final No. 1 seed.

On the bubble, only a Dayton victory over Richmond would cause teams to sweat on the outside looking in.
