After 23 years, Bob Ortegal will no longer be broadcasting for the Dallas Mavericks.
↵Ortegel had been absent from the Mavericks’ telecast since Jan. 27 for what the team described as “personal reasons.”
↵And now he is out of a job.
↵Ortegel decided against staying with the Mavericks in another capacity.
↵↵↵Ortegel confirmed that he was given other options to remain with the organization, including working as the color commentator on the ESPN 103.3 radio broadcasts.
↵"After some serious thought and discussion, I declined"
↵
The Mavericks will be replacing Ortegel with Derek Harper during home games and Brad Davis on the road.
