Super Bowl Commercials: Volkswagen, Darth Vader Remain The Best

Well, Super Bowl XLV is in the books and the Green Bay Packers are your Super Bowl champions after defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-25 in a pretty entertaining Super Bowl.

What was not entertaining, however, were the commercials. By and large, this year's Super Bowl ads bored me, though there were a few pretty good ones scattered throughout.

The winner of all the ads has to be Volkswagen as they used a mini Darth Vader who attempted to use the force on various household objects, including a dog and a baby doll. Frustrated that he could not summon the force properly, Lord Vader went outside as his father's Volkswagen Passat rolled into the driveway and the father, after going inside, aptly started the car with his remote control, stunning the young Lord Vader, who is surprised that the force actually worked.

As far as car commercials go, this is far and away miles better than Chevrolet was last night, who had the sappiest and worst commercials of all.
