New Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre is injured already. Beltre, who represents Texas' biggest offseason acquisition, has a Grade 1 calf strain according to Jeff Wilson. Luckily for Beltre and Rangers fans, a Grade 1 strain is the least severe type of strain. Beltre is slated to miss 10-14 games with this injury, but it's not really a big deal - for now. It's imperative for Beltre to make sure that he's well rested before returning from this strain so that it doesn't linger or worsen.
↵It's certainly not something to get upset about as a Rangers fan, but it is definitely something to keep an eye on going forward. Hopefully Beltre is ready to go for Opening Day against his former team, the Boston Red Sox - and hopefully, we won't be seeing Michael Young start at third routinely this year.
↵Texas is set to open up Cactus League play on Sunday, Feb. 27, when they host the Kansas City Royals in Surprise, Ariz.
