TCU Vs. Louisiana Tech, 2011 Poinsettia Bowl: Bulldogs Will Attempt To Stop The TCU Passing Game

The 2011-2012 BCS bowl season is already underway. Wednesday will bring with it the 2011 Poinsettia Bowl, as the TCU Horned Frogs will take on the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs.

The Horned Frogs will enter the game as big favorites thanks to a combination of stingy defense and an offense that ranked ninth in the nation over the course of the 2011 season.

Bryan Fischer of CBS Sports took a look at the key matchup for the game, which will come down to how effective the pass defense will be for Louisiana Tech. Horned Frogs quarterback Casey Pachall ranked seventh in pass efficiency, so if he's able to consistently locate targets, TCU won't have much trouble moving the ball down the field.

One of the Bulldogs' standout players is their punter Ryan Allen, who was the country's best punter over the past year. If Louisiana Tech is able to contain the passing game of TCU, Allen could very well be able to keep the Frogs continually out of range.
